Nothing won yet

While it was nice to knock out the Chavs in the semis, we have to be wary of West Ham. We haven't won the trophy yet and while we SHOULD be strong enough, nothing is certain in Football. Apart from Mourinho having a hissy fit whenever Chelski are defeated.

Does this guy have any class or pride?

I have never seen such a poor loser in all my time following English Football. He is getting as bad as Houllier was in his final years. Blaming everyone but himself for their defeats.

I'm afraid Rafa showed Mourinho up and if they had got a bit of luck when needed or had half decent strikers then Liverpool would of been hot on the trail of Chelski in the title race.

Liverpool are in my opinion close to challenging. Add a top class striker or two, a right-winger and a 'Speedy' Gonzalez and Liverpool will pose a threat to Chelski.

YNWA 96

So the day has come, the 17th anniversary of that horrible day at Hillsborough.

As you go about your daily business, remember the 96, that went that day just to watch a Football match and never returned home.

At long last

I have been busy with Uni work in the past week. Finally done and after this week I will have 2 weeks off to 1) Catch up with some work I missed and 2) Watch Footy.

Good win on the weekend, was a shame Bolton couldn't get at least a draw with the Mancs. Birmingham softened them up again this morning; lets put them to the sword on Sunday.

I see the title race might have been re-ignited. Too late in my opinion, Chelski will win it and I'd rather them over the Mancs.

Yes I hate Chelski almost as much as the Mancs these days, but the blues from London are still a mile away from our title's record.

PS. Inter Milan are the Neverton of European Football.

I'd wet my pants...

...if we signed Sergio Aguero.

The lad has made it clear he is a Liverpool fan and would love to sign for us. Rafa, make his wish come true.

Aguero is following in the footsteps of Messi and from what I have seen; I can understand all the hype. Absolute wonder kid!

Similar to an Aimar, Messi type player I think he'd make a great link up player in the 4-2-3-1 system Rafa tends to favour.

Crouch upfront, and then Aguero, a little Argie whiz, causing havoc like Aimar did with Rafa at Valencia would make all Reds drool.

I doubt we would fork out some of the fees quoted for Aguero. But I beg Rafa to take a look; sometimes it is worth the risk. Exhibit A: Wayne Rooney.

Gabriel Paletta is on his way and has played with Aguero in the youth Argentinean sides. Make it a double Argie swoop Rafa.

I got a feeling this kid just may be worth it.

"I have been a Liverpool fan for as long as I can remember and it would be a dream to play there."

"I watched the Champions League final and celebrated every goal as if it was for Independiente."

Fans want to be entertained

I've heard comments recently by those in the media about season 1 of the A-league. They claimed it was a success but they wanted the technical level of the game to improve. That Australian Football should look more towards Dutch Football instead of English.

Well that’s all well and good but which league in the world is the most watched, the most supported and arguably the most entertaining? The English Premier League.

The EPL might not be as technically sound as La Liga or Serie A but its massive TV ratings worldwide would suggest fans don't necessarily care. They want to be entertained. While some nice slow tempo passing and skills are nice. People want to see quick firebrand Football with the odd melee and crunching tackles.

So I say to these so-called 'experts', what would attract Australians more to the A-league, a slower tempo more technically sound league? Or a quicker more physical English style of Football?

Well take a look at the amount of EPL supporters in Australia and the rating Foxtel get for the EPL and let me know.

Liverpool are magic, Everton are tragic!

Simply superb, what a night last night was for me. A trip to the casino and I left 50 bucks ahead and then got to come home and watch my Red boys bring the toffees back down to earth where they belong.

Strange thing was that we looked a better side with Gerrard off. Alonso stepped up to the mark and in my opinion played one of his best games in a Red shirt. He was simply superb and his quality from set pieces was something we have missed all season. I hope from now on we give the duties to Alonso and let Gerrard wait for the crackers outside the box.

Little Luis was superb also, I love those sort of players. He can frustrate the hell out of you at times but he equally annoys the opposition just as much. His finish was superb, something we are used to seeing from our little Spaniard. It's the easier chances I'd like to see him bury more often.

As for Crouch, see below, the more people bag him the more foolish they will begin to look as time goes on.

Crouch > Beattie, plain and simple.

Special mention has to go to the mighty Kop too. They were simply superb. "10 men...we've only got 10 men!" and "Liverpool are magic, Everton are tragic!" were amongst my favourite songs. Again they showcase what is special about our club and why the Kop/Liverpool fans are the best in the world.

Power to the people!

Pressure from moi and fellow Reds has made Fox Sports show the Merseryside Derby in FULL. A replay still but a FULL replay only 30 or so minutes delayed is better then 60 minute highlights. The Wigan v West Ham game is now being shown in 60 minute highlights.

Sorry Wigan and Hammers fans, but even the most blinkered set of your fans would have to admit the Merseyside Derby is somewhat a bigger match up.
